The Marcel Barel Foundation (MBF) was established to honor and perpetuate this extraordinary legacy. Marcel, who dedicated over 50 years in the Spring Mountains and Lee Canyon, left an indelible mark on these landscapes.
The Foundation aims to extend this impact by supporting youth from the Las Vegas Valley by encouraging their participation and attendance in outdoor recreation programs within Lee Canyon and the surrounding Spring Mountain/Toiyabe National Forest. In honoring Marcel’s ethos, the MBF seeks to nurture and spread his unique perspective on outdoor recreation. His knowledge, confidence, and passion for the mountains are the foundation upon which we build our mission and vision, aiming to inspire future generations to find their own connection with the natural world.
